Here’s Where Every Song on BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” Debuts on the Global Charts

All eight songs from the new set appear on the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. surveys.

They’ve done it before and they’re doing it again. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, together known as BLACKPINK, log all eight songs from BORN PINK on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, led by a No. 1 debut for “Shut Down.”

The South Korean girl group’s newest album was released Sept. 16, impacting the Oct. 1-dated charts. BORN PINK debuts atop the Billboard 200 with 102,000 equivalent album units, marking the first set by an all-female group to lead the ranking since 2008.

All eight songs clear the top half of both tallies, and they make the top 40 of the Global Excl. U.S. survey. Here’s a run-down of where each song lands.

“Shut Down” – No. 1 Billboard Global 200; No. 1 Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
“Pink Venom” – No. 2; No. 2
“Typa Girl” – No. 16; No. 13
“Hard to Love” – No. 27; No. 19
“Happiest Girl” – No. 34; No. 22
“Yeah Yeah Yeah” – No. 43; No. 27
“Tally” – No. 52; No. 35
“Ready for Love” – No. 60; No. 39

“Shut Down” is the group’s third No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. and second on the Global 200. That makes BLACKPINK the second act with a hat trick on the former tally, following BTS who leads with six chart-toppers. It veers from the group’s prior No. 1s, as it is sung exclusively in English, foregoing any Korean lyrics.

Pink Venom” rebounds from No. 4 to No. 2 after crowning Global Excl. U.S. for three weeks and the Global 200 for two in September.

That makes BORN PINK only the second album to yield multiple Global Excl. U.S. chart-toppers. The first was BTS’ BE, which sent “Dynamite” to the top for eight non-consecutive weeks and “Life Goes On,” for one frame. In addition to those two, Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour joins the crowd among Global 200 chart-toppers, with “Drivers License” (eight weeks) and “Good 4 U” (six).

Further, BLACKPINK remains the only act to have topped both global surveys as a group and with a solo member. Rose debuted at No. 1 on the March 27, 2021-dated lists with “On the Ground.”

Collectively, the eight tracks drew 371.5 million streams and sold 55,000 downloads worldwide in the week ending Sept. 22.
