BLACKPINK’s LISA Now Claims the Most Hits on Billboard’s Global Chart Among K-Pop Soloists

For more than a month now, Lisa has filled more than one spot on Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most-consumed songs in the world, the Billboard Global 200. Her two solo smashes continue to find space, and they likely will for some time. Now, she’s collected another smash, and by doing so, she makes important history among artists in her chosen genre.

This week, Lisa debuts alongside DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion on “SG.” The collaborative tune launches at No. 19, bringing all four artists back to the Billboard Global 200, where they have all already spent some time. It’s a major win for all involved—“SG” earns the second-highest start of the frame, coming in less than 10 spots behind The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia’s “Moth to a Flame,” which kicks off its time at No. 10—and Lisa does what none before her have managed.

“SG” is Lisa’s third hit to land on the Billboard Global 200, and that puts her ahead of all other solo K-pop musicians in terms of the number of tracks they’ve sent to the tally. The chart is only a little more than a year old, and while many of the biggest names in the South Korean music industry have found their way to the list (including several who do so again this time around), three wins on the roster is still a big deal among K-pop acts.

Lisa first reached the Billboard Global 200 on her own seven weeks ago, when her debut songs as a solo act arrived. Both her lead single “Lalisa” and B-side “Money” launched simultaneously, with the former kicking off its time on the tally in the runner-up space, while “Money” eventually climbed all the way to No. 10. She remains the only K-pop solo artist to appear inside the top 10 more than once.

With a third hit now included in her discography, Lisa breaks out of her tie with fellow Blackpink bandmate Rosé, who also broke out as a solo star earlier in 2021. The singer’s “On the Ground” went all the way to No. 1, while follow-up cut “Gone” lifted to No. 29. Blackpink the group has also reached the ranking as well, and they stand out as one of the most successful K-pop acts in the tally’s history. The quartet has already sent 10 tunes to the Billboard Global 200, and they will surely return when they have new music to share.
