In a market where the trend is overdoing everything, we wanted a concept [for BLACKPINK] that was different from all the existing senior groups: “as if you dressed up even if you didn’t dress up.” Creating that “effortlessly cool” look was not easy.
When we were preparing, I was in a very nervous state. But when we started shooting, all of the worries became unnecessary.
