Lisa, the most followed k-pop idol on Instagram, is known as the upbeat and spunky member of BLACKPINK. Lisa was born Pranpriya Manobal in the Buriram Province of Thailand before moving to Bangkok when she was three years old.
Lisa recalls that she was always dancing and singing as a child, so her mom signed her up for lessons in kindergarten. She then started participating in competitions at a young age, leading her to eventually audition for YG Entertainment in 2010. Out of the 4,000 applicants, she was the only person to make it.
At only 14 years old, Lisa had to move to South Korea without her mom. She didn’t speak any Korean, but fortunately Lisa was able to communicate with Jennie, who was the only one who could speak English among the trainees. Lisa officially joined YG as a trainee in 20211 and trained for five years. During that time, Lisa designed the choreography for every dance during practices.
Currently, Lisa is the main dancer and lead rapper of BLACKPINK. She was the first non-ethnically Korean to debut under YG. Like the rest of her fellow BLACKPINK members, Lisa has landed many television appearances on Korean variety shows and endorsement deals from brands. She served as Moonshot’s brand ambassador in 2018; in 2019, she became the muse for Hedi Slimane of Céline. In 2020, Lisa was crowned the newest brand ambassador of Bvlgari and participated in the Serpenti and B.zero1 campaigns.
Lisa loves vintage clothes and will pop into vintage shops wherever she travels. She has a lifestyle and dance YouTube channel called Lilifilm Official. On her birthday, Lisa released a limited-edition photo book titled 0327, which featured self-shot photos taken with a film camera. She is very close with Rosé, as they’re both the same age and have similar tastes.
